1st Book in Planned Military Aviation Travel Adventure Series, From Woman Veteran and Latina

"Poignant, powerful and beautiful—Good Night Captain Mama celebrates a mother's love for her child and a military woman's love for her country.  As we turn the pages, we journey through that special and impressionable moment when a child rediscovers who his mother is, beyond 'Mom.' This enlightening story of courage, love and leadership is a must-have book on children's night tables and library bookshelves around the world." - Dr. Angelica Perez-Litwin, Founder of Latinas Think Big
Bedtime conversation the night before Veterans Day 2009 as I prepared to visit my son's preschool the following morning. This short chat inspired the first book in a planned bilingual, aviation travel adventure series with Captain Mama and her kids.

Good Night Captain Mama / Buenas Noches Capitán Mamá [ISBN: 978-0-9834760-3-0] is a bilingual (English and Spanish) children's picture book created for children between the ages of three and eight. The main character is a young boy in pajamas. As he passes by his mother's bedroom, he sees her in her olive-green Air Force-issued flight suit. The child is curious about the colorful patches on the uniform and asks questions as he pulls each one off. His mother's answers teach him, and young children everywhere, why women serve in uniform too. The patches’ symbolism helps aviator Mama explain what it means to serve in the U.S. Air Force and why she does it.
